Summer, a time for rest and relaxation and enjoyable reprieve from stressful courses taken over the course of the school semester/year. For some of us fortunate enough to be able to take summer classes, they can be an interesting accelerated program that will allow you to get the credits you need but also provide a more hands on and less stressful environment.
Here are 6 things to love about taking summer classes as told by Toy Story!
1. Introducing yourself in Summer Classes is much more enjoyable!
Usually, there are less students per class meaning you don't have to have that anxiety of trying to remember everyone's name (though sometimes even in a small class it's difficult to remember all your classmates' names...oops)
2. But at the same time, professors learn your name THAT much easier
This can be a double-edged sword. God forbid you had them as a professor in a previous course. THEY ALREADY KNOW YOU! (I'm kidding it's actually pretty great to have the upper hand)
3. You're all generally pretty happy to be in the class
I mean, you probably paid for the class with your own money and generally, the course is taught by someone pretty awesome.
4. Learning the material at an accelerated pace can be slightly daunting
I mean condensing a 15-week course into a 6-week summer course can seem kinda scary.
5. Making new friends in the class actually works!
For some reason, you end up making friends faster in a summer course than the longer courses. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's because you're spending every day with them?
6. Summer Classes are just generally better
It's pretty awesome when you "get" the stuff they are talking about in the class, because there's a good chance everyone else gets it too! Classes are shorter and you end up learning a bunch!
Happy Summer 2017! and Happy Learning everyone!
