Now that the semester is winding down with only a couple more weeks left, it’s time to find a new show to binge watch over winter break. A weight has lifted off our shoulders and we can finally relax and enjoy a few weeks of stress-free living. What better way to spend your time than watching Netflix in fuzzy pajamas and under a warm blanket? Lucky for you, I have compiled a list of ten awesome shows to watch in all this free time.

1. Sense8

This show is one of my absolute favorite shows! It is a Netflix original, and it’s only two seasons long. This show is about eight people from eight different parts of the world that are connected telepathically. The cluster becomes very close and the show documents their journey through family and personal issues. The show is told through flashback and what’s happening presently. It can get a little confusing if you’re not paying attention, but it is so good that it’s worth the confusion. I would highly recommend this show!

2. The 100

This is my all-time favorite show. It is based off a book series by Kass Morgan, but the show doesn’t take the book into any consideration. The books, in my opinion, are much better than the show, but the show is still amazing. The 100 is about a population of people living on twelve international space stations, after a nuclear Armageddon. Three generations later, only 4,000 people have survived on the Ark. As their supplies and resources are depleting, the Chancellor believes it’s time to send people to the ground to see if it’s inhabitable. This would save their people. One hundred delinquents are sent to the ground to fend for themselves. It’s just a really interesting show because you get to learn about all of the characters and what their stories are, as well as watching how these teenagers survive. 12/10 would recommend.

3. Parks and Recreation

I am currently re-watching this show and I forgot how much I love it. It’s similar to "The Office," but more light-hearted and even funnier. As long as you don’t watch the first season, the show is amazing. It focuses on the Parks and Recreation government department in Pawnee, Indiana. There are so many different types of characters and they’re so enjoyable to watch. The interactions between all of the characters are so hilarious and kind-hearted. The show is very entertaining, and it makes everyone who watches it very happy. The episodes are only twenty-one minutes, so you won’t feel guilty watching six or more in a row. What could be better than that? But this show is awesome, and I love it.

4. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

This is another Netflix original, but it is so much more than that. It’s about a girl named Kimmy that was kidnapped and held in a bunker for 15 years. When she’s finally found, she has no idea how to live as an adult because she was still in elementary school when she was taken. She manages to get a job and an apartment within her first day in New York City, but then everything begins to go wrong for her. She meets three people that become her best friends, and they help her turn her life around and teach her to act like a mature adult. This show is so kind-hearted and comedic, to the point where it’s hard to watch it without smiling. Netflix just released the third season a few months ago, and it ends on a very interesting cliffhanger. Overall, it’s an amazing show and it’s definitely one of my favorites. I recommend this show to everyone because it’s that good

5. Grey's Anatomy

While I haven’t watched this show intently before, I’ve only seen a couple episodes, everyone is talking about it, so it must be good. My roommate loves it and is really pushing me to watch it, and I’m getting to it. But the couple episodes I’ve watched were pretty intense, like on-the-edge-of-your-seat intense. Plus, there are 13 seasons, so you’ll be busy every day trying to finish the show. And if it’s as good as everyone says it is, it’ll probably go by pretty quickly because you’ll be so invested in what’s going on. All I know about the show is that it’s about doctors, there’s a lot of blood, and a lot of people die. Which sounds like an interesting show and it has my interest piqued. So, I would recommend this show to watch because it seems really interesting and it’ll keep you busy.

6. Scandal

This show is also very intense like "Grey’s." This show is very professional, and so much happens in it that if you miss even a minute, you could be lost. There are so many problems that go wrong in this show that need to be fixed and controlled. It’s very interesting to watch how the main characters deal with these issues, and then what they do when new issues result because of it. This show focuses on Olivia Pope, who is a special lawyer that is having an affair with the President. And as the show goes on, a ton of secrets are revealed, and some characters aren’t who they say they are. Each character has underlying secrets that are pulled out of them, and that makes the show even more intense. My mom and I watched this show together a couple years ago, and we loved it. I plan on re-watching it soon, and I recommend that everyone else watch it, too. Overall, this show is so fresh and detail-oriented that it makes learning about it even more enjoyable.

Overall, everyone loves a good show on Netflix. And with three to six weeks off from school, we are going to have the time to be able to binge-watch a good TV series. These shows are just a few really good ones out there right now that everyone I’ve talked to has enjoyed. So, get watching and have a great break!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
