We all have our own ways on showing how much we love someone. Our parents do it by telling us things we don’t want to hear, but they are always right and only say it because they want what’s best for us. Our friends show their love when they tell us to make good choices because they don’t want us to do anything stupid while we are at school. Lastly, our loved ones will say whatever they need to make sure we know how loved we are, even when we think we aren’t. Here is a list of what you can say or ask to make sure someone important in your life knows you care about them:

  1. How are you?
  2. Text me when you’re home safe
  3. Wear your seatbelt
  4. Drive safe
  5. Stay safe
  6. Make sure you eat something
  7. Please stay hydrated
  8. Please make good choices
  9. Don’t stay up too late
  10. Are you ok?
  11. Are you getting enough sleep?
  12. How was your day?
  13. You make me smile
  14. Take my jacket; it’s cold
  15. I don’t care how bad it looks; wear a hat, gloves, and scarf if it’s colder than 30 degrees.
  16. Don’t work too hard
  17. Let me know if you need anything
  18. Do you have enough money with you?
  19. Don’t forget to put on sunscreen
  20. Let’s take a picture together
  21. Be careful/Don’t walk alone at night
  22. Slow down when you’re driving
  23. Smile, it looks good on you
  24. Wear your helmet if you go for for a bike ride
  25. Put on bug spray
  26. I hate seeing you sad
  27. Please don’t cry
  28. You are worth it
  29. You think no one cares, but I do
  30. It looks fine to me!
  31. I want your opinion on this
  32. Just stay inside tonight
  33. I am here for you
  34. You are not alone
  35. Can I come with you?
  36. You’re upset…I’m coming over
  37. It’s going to be okay
  38. Don’t worry about what others think
  39. How can I help you?
  40. I was thinking about you today
  41. I miss you
  42. I’m so happy for you!
  43. I support you no matter what
  44. I have faith in you
  45. Call me when you get a chance
  46. I want to share this with you
  47. I’m so proud of you!
  48. Forget about the calories; eat the cake
  49. Want to watch a Disney movie?
  50. I’ll pray for you

So, make sure you remind the ones you love that they are loved. It may be a few words you say, an action you do, or something that came from your heart; it shows so much love, care, and support for the people in your life. You’ll never know how much someone needs a kind gesture or a compliment to get them through the day. It’s so powerful to know that you can make their world a better place, when that’s all they needed was a little love.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
