Not only am I top of my class in procrastination, I am also a very forgetful person when it comes to school. Nay, when it comes to life. This happened to me a lot during my first year of college; I never wrote anything down and constantly forgot about things. Rookie mistake. While I forgot about a lot during the past two semesters, I've also learned even more. Not only do I not want to forget to do my laundry on a weekly basis, but I also don't want to forget all of the lessons I've learned during the past year. This is why I’ve taken everything I’ve learned during Freshman year and made myself a handy list of reminders to make sure I don’t forget the essentials again.

1. Live in the moment (instead of worrying about something 2 weeks away).

2. Don’t call home every single day.

3. Do call home every once and a while.

4. Do your laundry.

5. Especially your sheets.

6. You need to wash the dishes too.

7. Netflix doesn’t count as homework.

8. Eat breakfast.

9. Fig Newtons don’t count as breakfast.

10. Find new study spots.

11. Be open to meeting new people.

12. And trying new things.

13. Be nice to yourself.

14. It’s okay to not love all of your classes.

15. It’s not okay to not care about your classes.

16. Just read the damn chapter.

17. If you have to ask, it’s probably on the test.

18. Don’t sleep until noon every weekend.

19. Save your money.

20. Send your family nice letters in the mail.

21. Remember to email that important person back.

22. Don’t let stress and anxiety keep you up at night. Relax

23. Say no less and yes more.

24. Water the plants.

25. Vacuum.

26. Write your roommate nice notes.

27. You don’t have unlimited meal swipes.

28. Quiet hours are a thing.

29. Be yourself (#cliche)

30. Bring an umbrella even if you think it will only rain a little bit that day.

31. Again, laundry.

32. Rejection isn’t the end of the world.

33. Neither is that C- you got.

34. Call your grandparents.

35. You’ll feel better after you go to the gym.

36. Keep writing.

37. Stop hitting the snooze button 30 times and just get out of bed.

38. Not every day is going to be a good one.

39. Don’t get clouded by negativity.

40. Discover new music.

41. If you wear the same shoes every day, they are going to get dirty. Especially if they’re white.

42. Stay involved on campus

43. Take selfies. Because why the hell not?

44. Don’t always worry about others. Focus on yourself.

45. Keep your commitments. Don’t flake.

46. Go to the library.

47. Go to the library and study.*

48. Treat yourself.

49. Take photos.

50. Make every day count.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
