The older I've gotten the more I've realized that it is the little things in life that make me the happiest. It could be the tiniest thing and I will instantly have a smile on my face. From wearing my favorite outfit to eating my favorite food, it makes me happy. We often take the little things for granted and we should appreciate them. We do not need grand and outlandish things to make us, the littlest things turn out to be the happiest.

1. Warm Weather


2. Having my nails painted ( although getting my nails can be awkward and uncomfortable)

3. Taking long walks ( preferably with my mom since she is my best friend )


4. Finding new music to listen to

5. Someone holding the door open for me


6. Rainy nights ( falling asleep to rain is my favorite)

7. Sneaking snacks into the movie theater


8. Finding a new show to binge watch ( I suggest Riverdale and That 70's Show)

9. Going shopping


10. Talking to my mom ( My Mom can always make me happy)

11. Baking a dessert

12. Finding a new recipe to cook for dinner

13. Hugs


14. Getting a drink from Dunkin Donuts

15. Having no homework


16. Catching up with old friends

17. Making pancakes for breakfast


18. Getting new shoes ( preferably a new pair of Vans)

19. Watching Impractical Jokers ( You are lying if the show does not make you laugh)


20. Discovering a new YouTube channel to binge watch ( I suggest Okbaby or David Dobrik)

22. Taking a long hot shower ( and singing! )


23. Being alone

24. Reading new books


25. Ice Cream

26. Wearing leggings ( I'm always happy when I'm comfortable)


27. Listening to country music

28. Doing a face mask


29. Drinking cold water

30. Taking my bra off right when I get home ( the best feeling ever! )


31. Changing out of my clothes and putting on my pajama's at the end of a long day

32. Going out for dinner


33. Meeting new people

34. Seeing other people happy


35. Learning something new

36. Waking up in the morning, actually excited to start the day ( Be thankful when it happens )


37. Putting mascara on

38. Watching and singing along with the movie " Grease"


39. The snow glistening right after it snowed

40. Seeing a rainbow right after it rained ( The most beautiful sight )


41. Volunteering with children for the day

42. Exploring a new place


43. Being able to experience four seasons in one year

44. Feeling like a boss


45. Acing a test or a project

46. Putting my hair up in a messy bun


47. Having a good hair day

48. Relaxing in my bed while watching my favorite TV show


49. Someone giving me a compliment

50. Smiling ( You do not know how much a smile can change someone's day )

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
