Don't get me wrong, I love the University of Maryland. I love going to my school and I love partaking in whatever College Park can offer me. But move-in day is coming up soon, and I have a few things I am not looking forward to this year.

1. Squirrels that only fear god and pop out of nowhere to scare you.

2. Construction.

3. Buses at night.

4. The Eppley weight room.

5. "Yeah, sorry, but I have 20 reps left and I'm not into switching in between even though I am sitting here doing absolutely nothing."

6. The monthly alarm test.

7. Seeing someone you kind of know on Tinder and not being sure what direction to swipe.

8. The smell of Stamp.

9. The crowds at Stamp.

10. Stamp.

11. Trying to find a table at McKeldin with a small group on a semi-busy night and not being able to sit together because individuals take up a whole table meant for at least five others.

12. No one person needs a whole study carrel.

13. Bikers who bike on the sidewalk and almost kill you.

14. Bikers who bike in the street, but don't obey the laws of the road and almost kill you.

15. Applebee's being the nicest restaurant in walking distance.

16. But at least we have 99 different options for pizza.

17. People trying to rope you into pyramid schemes at least twice a day.

18. "Do you have a minute?"

19. No, I don't have a minute because I have 10 minutes to walk from one side of campus to the other because scheduling is impossible.

20. People in Hornbake Plaza yelling at me that I'm going to hell.

21. No Dunkin' Donuts.

22. Sketchy bouncers.

23. Flashers in McKeldin.

24. Voyeurs in bathrooms.

25. Gropers on McKeldin Mall.

26. Knife/gun-wielding muggers who hardly ever seem to get caught.

27. The health center not being open when I need it to be.

28. Because I get sick on Sundays, alright.

29. The lack of Coca-Cola products.

30. The tasteless food.

31. But that won't be an issue because I have to pay $8-$16 to enter the dining halls now.

32. Our 3-9 football record.

33. "Hey I'm sorry for messaging you all on Elms two years after our class ended, but I want you all to know about this incredible resource I've discovered."

34. Schoolwork.

35. The bookstore charging me $200 for a textbook that is $25 on any other website.

36. My third year in a row on a lofted/bunked bed.

37. The oddly large number of people who walk on the left side of the sidewalk.

38. No, I'm not interested in cold-calling for Trump/Clinton.

39. The Wi-Fi.

40. Not getting a ticket for basketball.

41. The ever present red tape.

42. Lecture halls that haven't been updated since 'Nam.

43. Professors and TAs who are geniuses, but can't teach.

44. The overwhelming humidity and grossness of Ritchie's cardio room.

45. The ever-present grey skies from October to April.

46. Why do I always feel like I'm walking uphill?

47. The 30-minute walk to class in the rain/snow.

48. How depressing McKeldin Mall looks when they drain the fountain.

49. The Armory.

And finally,

50. "Try again a different night."

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
