Knowing that quarantine can get super repetitive, rather than trying to break that loop, try and embrace it by creating a new schedule for yourself to better yourself. Here are some of the things that you can do in order to take care of yourself and boost your self-appreciation.

Start a Workout

I've started trying to work out and better myself by bettering my health and my body. I know there are plenty of people out there that feel the same way that I feel when I say that I was not happy or satisfied with where my body was at the beginning of quarantine. In order to boost my confidence, and with the time that we have, I decided to start working out.

I looked for the longest time to see what kind of workout would work for me, but I found the perfect one. Chloe Ting's 2 Week Shred is absolutely the best workout program I have tried. So, if you are feeling like you want to get more active, I highly recommend trying a workout program.

Find a New Hobby

This may be a lot easier said than done, but I have heard some fun things that would be good to try out. I have heard a lot of people have been trying to learn a new instrument. This is one good thing to try and learn because it could be fun for future family events and just a fun party trick you may be able to pull out while out with other people.

Also, a lot of people have been taking up painting and that is another great thing to try out. This can be something will be used later for a calming activity or something that you could use in order to make paintings for people you love. Those are some great things that you can do to start a new hobby while in quarantine.

Start a TV Show

Although this does not seem like something that you can do to better yourself, but I'm not just talking about watching the show. If you choose to start watching a show during quarantine, start it with your family. This will not only be a great thing for you to start binging a new show, but this will strengthen the new conversation you and your family will be having. This will be something super fun for you and your family to do because you can talk about favorite characters, shocking moments and it could become a fun family tradition to create while in lockdown. It sounds super fun and I may even start doing it as well.

Reach Out to Friends and Family

During this time it can be very boring and lonely because of the lack of people that normally was in your life before quarantine. Although you can't have or shouldn't have people over your houses, you can still reach out. Try making a fun Zoom or FaceTime call for a certain day every week. This will help everyone catch up at the end of every week possibly and it will change the people that you talk to on the daily. This goes for family as well. Although sometimes you really only see family during celebrations, there could still be that odd feeling of loneliness when you think about your family. Talk to family and just check up on them to see how they feel, checking up on those who love you could be more fun than you think.

Appreciate Yourself

Learn to love everything about yourself. We really have had a lot of time on our hands and I know we have all be stuck in our head. A lot of people have issues with loving themselves and loving who they are, but this is the perfect time to really appreciate you and what kind of person you are. Try complimenting yourself, this may be hard but really try to boost your confidence. Mediate. That may not be your cup of tea, but that is one great way to truly center yourself. There are all different types of ways to help yourself feel good about yourself, and I hope that this can help you and I hope you learn more about yourself after this.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
