There are already so many things that we have to deal with on a daily basis, is it fair that we must also deal with keeping ourselves healthy. I mean can't our brains and bodies just take care of all our needs and if we do happen to abuse our bodies with unhealthy foods can't our organs just make do with it. Like that's their only job.

Staying healthy is never easy and staying healthy, especially in college, is almost next to impossible.

You can have so many excuses to eat out or eat something absolutely decadent and ridiculous. Forget about trying to maintain healthy eating habits but there are literally a million excuses to not exercise or maintain any sort of physical activity. The world is your oyster to remain an unhealthy blob that is always too busy, stressed, or "out of it." You will always have a million reasons to not convert to a healthy lifestyle, but truthfully, you only need one reason to try your utmost to live your best healthy life.

Here are some ways in which you can maintain a healthy life:

1. Keep Impulses At Bay

It is often very tempting to give into sinful impulses especially if you have been hungry for the whole day and haven't had the chance to eat yet. In this situation, try to keep yourself away from the grocery store, fast food restaurants, or even the kitchen. If you enter any of these places on a hungry stomach then you are bound to purchase or cook impulsively and impulsive cooking leads to unhealthy choices. Food is the best way to monitor and maintain a healthy lifestyle and often can be the hardest one to control, but you just have got to push through and instill a discipline.

2. Try One Thing

It is important to get into some sort of physical activity. It's not necessary to have to do something highly intensive as long as you are doing something at all. It can be as something as simple as just walking everywhere you go to running three times a week.

3. Work Out With A Friend

Working out with someone is a very effective method of working out. You don't necessarily need to do every physical activity with another person but working out with someone gives you an opportunity and motivation to head to the gym in the first place.

4. Don't Try Crash Diets

Crash diets or diets that promise weight loss or something dramatic in a short period of time is a health hazard. Healthy living is an ongoing process which requires time. Don't indulge in crash diets that might often lead to frustrations when results are achieved in the given limited time frame.

5. Find Something You Love

Finally, when trying to involve yourself in a physical activity try to engage in something that you find an interest in. It can be something like dancing, boxing or any other thing that interests you. As long as you are engaged you will be more encouraged to stay involved.

Healthy living is hard but not impossible. As long as you keep your wits together you will come out on the other side being healthy, wealthy and wise.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
