Our eyes have large, circular, and dark bags underneath them, our minds feel a bit foggy and exhausted, and our bodies ache juuuust a bit more than they did yesterday....this is called Monday. We all face this dreadful day, and some may have better strategies than others. The following list is my go-to strategy. It has been successful, for me. Monday's don't have to be dreadful as it is all about perspective. Here are a few ways to improve your Monday's, along with the rest of the week.
1. Coffee
Coffee is seriously so magical. As a barista of 3 years, I can tell you that early morning shifts at the coffee shop are quite interesting. A great amount of the customers who walk through the door have glum, dreary looks on their faces. These customers let out a small sigh and order a large coffee to-go, some with a small bakery item as well. They fill up their 20 ounce cup with our darkest brew, leaving no room for cream...they're the REAL deal. The caffeine and taste bring nothing but happiness to their faces. This is proof that coffee is magic.
2. A Daily Meme/Funny Gif
As a young adult that grew up during the peak of technological advancement, my childhood (and so on) was filled with all types of technological gadgets. From the ORIGINAL LeapPad, to the Nintendo DS, eventually leading to cellphones, tablets, laptops, etc.....my life has been filled with technology, which has led me to find enjoyment out of scrolling through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram...finding funny memes and gifs that just so happen to make my day just a tad better!
3. Dogs
I am one of those people who sees a dog and immediately feels a gravitational pull towards them. I feel so terribly bad for those who are allergic to dogs, cats, or any type of animal. Animals are absolute gifts to earth, may we love and cherish them forever.
4. Music
Music can change your mood instantly. I could be tired, sad, and/or cranky one moment, then all of a sudden an Ariana Grande (or Shania Twain, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, James Arthur, The Lumineers, etc.) song comes on and my mood has completely changed. 5. Friendship
Who doesn't like a good friendship? Someone you can get coffee with, send funny memes/gifs to throughout the day, walk your dog(s) with, listen to music with, and/or.....maybe even someone you can rant to about your dreadful Monday if none of the 4 ideas worked for you.
