Every day brings something new. A new adventure, a new encounter, possibly a new friend, but something unexpected. Some days are bad, while others are good. But, the most important part of the day to ensure the overall day will be good, is the morning. Here are 5 ways to start your day to guarentee you will have the best day possible:

1. Make your bed.

Make your bed? You must think I'm crazy, wondering how making a bed can ensure a good day. Well, let me explain. First and foremost it is imperative to feel organized in the beginning of the day in order to feel organized and put together throughout the rest of the day.

Simply making your bed is a good first start to this sense of feeling put together. It will not only make the room look cleaner and less clutter, but it will make you feel good. It is a simple task that calls for a great feeling of achievement.

2. Morning workout.

Get your booty out of bed early and hit the gym. Drag your booty out of bed if that what it takes. Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! Not only will this provide you with a great sweat to begin the day, relieving all the toxins from your body, it will make you feel amazing.

There is no better way than to start the day than to start it with confidence. This morning workout will make you believe in yourself and feel good about yourself, allowing you to be an overall confident person, positively impacting other aspects in your day-to-day activity or life overall.

3. Eat a HEALTHY breakfast.

Sure, everyone loves those sugar-filled Lucky Charms once in a while or pancakes, but more than not, eat a healthy breakfast following making your bed and your post workout. Eating healthy makes you feel healthy. It makes you feel refreshed and awake to get throughout the day. All the sugar-filled foods will taste good temporarily, but leave you feeling bloated, slumped and tired.

4. Wear a cute outfit.

After making your bed, working out, and eating a healthy breakfast, put on a cute outfit. Put on an outfit that gives you the confidence to walk through campus like you own the place. All three of the steps before lead up to feeling good about yourself, so maintain that feeling with an outfit that makes you happy. Sweats vs. jeans -- you bet those sweats will feel good on a cold day, but will also make you fall asleep in class. Make the right outfit choice and you are set for the day.

5. Feel good about yourself.

Follow steps 1-4 and you are guaranteed to feel good about yourself. And after all, a good morning begins with feeling good about yourself. Do all that is in your power to start the day off right. The morning is the most important part of your day because it predicts how the rest of the day will go. You got this!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
