The 5 Ways You Will Survive Finals Week

'Tis the season for stress, lots of coffee, and little sleep.

With finals right around the corner, we're all stressed out. The post-Thanksgiving food coma is real, and honestly, all I want to do is go home and binge watch "Stranger Things." BUT, good news friends! We're almost there.

Here is how I am going to survive the next two weeks...

1. Get Sleep

Even though we're all on a time crunch with the many projects, papers, and tests we have, sleep is SO important. It's much better to get a full night's rest and study less than stay up all night and be so tired that you don't remember anything you studied.

2. Pace Yourself

Cramming is never the answer. Although I am guilty of cramming a whole semester of information into my head in one day, I can testify that it does not work. Pace yourself when reviewing and studying, and you'll save yourself so much time and stress.

3. Eat Right

There is nothing worse than having a lot to do and feeling like garbage while doing it. I know it's way easier to go and grab Whataburger (all my fellow Texans) or McDonald's rather than cooking something yourself, but eating healthy will not only make you feel good but will also give you the energy to power through finals!

4. Put Your Phone Down

This is honestly my #1 distractor when studying. One second, you're quickly answering a text and the next thing you know you've spent 45 minutes on Facebook watching tiny cooking videos. By silencing your phone or turning it off, you will save yourself so much time and get done with studying that much faster.

5. Stay Organized

Organization will be your BFF during these next few weeks. The last thing any of us wants is to forget about an assignment or something we have to do for a class and mess up our GPA at the last minute. Plan your days out and watch how much easier finals go!

Above all, take breaks every once in awhile, reward yourself, and know that YOU CAN DO IT!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
