For most college students on semester systems, spring finals are coming up in less than 6 weeks. If you thought this semester has been moving fast before, these next couple weeks will go by in the blink of an eye. It's easy to get distracted with spring weather rolling in, but before you know it, finals season will be here. Here are 5 ways to stay on top of your finals preparation.
1. Know When Your Finals Are
Seems easy right? But maybe you don't know what time there at or you just realized that you have two in one day. Be aware of when they are before it's too late.
2. Plan Out the Last Assignments
Do you have 3 papers due during "dead week"? Well you might, so this is the time to figure out exactly what you'll need to get done before you even think about the final.
3. Cumulative?
If it's not already stated in your syllabus, ask the professor if the final is cumulative. This detail can completely change how you prepare for the final. Save those notes you took and flashcards you made during week 5, you may end up needing them later.
4. Use Your Planner
Accidentally commit yourself to an event right before a final? Save yourself from being screwed over. Take that planner out from the bottom of your desk drawer and start writing things down.
5. Talk to the Professor! Office Hours!!
Are you not understanding that one concept that's vital to you doing well in the class? Get ahead of the game. Professors will appreciate ANYONE that comes to office hours, especially when you're not asking for an entire semester review a week before the final.
