My freshman year of college was without a doubt one of the best years of my life. During your freshman year, you create so many fun memories and make so many new friends. Because of that, it was inevitable that I was excited to go back to school. But so far sophomore year of college is much more different than freshman year, and it's okay. Here are 5 ways you'll notice your sophomore year is different:
1. You realize you're no longer the youngest grade.
It won't even hit you that you're no longer a freshman until you're moving into a new building and starting a whole new school year differently. An actual tidal wave of nostalgia washed over me when I visited my old residence hall.
2. You actually know what to expect.
Before college, I was always so confused about how college class-times work and what to expect; now I know that I never want to take an 8 A.M. ever again. After freshmen year you can pretty much consider yourself a pro about everything that is college. You know where everything is on campus and what to do/ not to do.
3. Friends come and go.
It's common for many students to transfer schools after their first year. Yeah, it's really upsetting when some of your best friends don't go to the same school anymore, but it just makes their visits even more exciting.
4. You're one year closer to adulting.
Absolutely terrifying, but still exciting.
5. You live and you learn.
Freshmen year, you're going to regret things that you do... and things that you don't do. But it's okay to make mistakes- how else would we learn? Just learn from them and spend sophomore year going out for the things you missed.
