It's that time of year again, and if you're one of those people with a reason to plan a Valentine's Day date, you're probably struggling to come up with something fun, romantic and that doesn't resemble the beginning of a cheaply produced horror film. I'm here to help you with the first two.
1. Have a Shrek marathon
When was the last time you sat down with someone you loved and watched all four current installations of the Shrek series? If your answer was anywhere between "five minutes ago" and "never," this is the date for you.
2. Try to get a double date with strangers
If there's a couple sitting at your local McDonald's, chances are they want you to sit next to them! Turn their date into an impromptu double date and you'll all remember that night for a very long time.
3. Walk around Walmart
Shopping with your loved ones while munching on some $4 popcorn chicken may sound like something you did as a child, but with the right person, it can be a truly enchanting night.
4. Leave the country
If you have some extra money lying around and a reason to flee the U.S., this plan is for you. Not only is it insanely romantic, but it also lets you escape your troubled past! Can be accomplished by car, plane, boat or really any other method of transportation.
5. Sit in your respective homes alone and text/snap/tweet each other
This is the date-of-choice for long-, short- or no-distance couples because it requires minimal effort and it still allows both parties to do whatever they actually want to do instead. It's a win-win.
