Finals week is right around the corner here at Florida State! If you're anything like me, you need a distraction to break up your studying. Somehow, I always find myself turning to Netflix after a long day of sitting in Stroz. Here are my top 5 favorite shows to distract you from what you probably should be doing:

1. "New Girl."

Schmidt, enough said. If you need a laugh or a pick me up, but are so over actually talking to people, this show will cheer you right up. Jess will give you the support you need, and Nick will make you feel much better about just starting to study for your exam the night before. Schmidt is just your most obnoxious self, and you love him for that. He didn't get his marketing job by not studying for his finals!!

2. "The Office."

The Office is the classic go-to distraction. Whether you’re ready to laugh or cry during finals week, The Office has it all. Michael will remind you that anyone can rise to manager at their local branch of Dunder Mifflin. Just seeing Jim put Dwight's office supplies in jello will be enough to make up for the fact that you have a paper due at midnight.

3. "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

This is my personal guilty pleasure. If you want to forget about how you forgot to shower these past few days, and how you've eaten an unhealthy amount of Easy Mac, this is the show for you. It is always a good go to when you need to get your mind off of real life for an hour. I guarantee that Khloe will give you a good laugh, and Kim is probably having a worse day than you are. You can pretend you're not actually sitting in your dorm, and dream of flying off to Cannes after your last exam.

4. "Glee."

Watching the show or listening to the soundtrack counts for this one. Glee never fails to make me smile, and during finals week that is exactly what I need. You can even just have it on in the background while you study. I guarantee you will be in a better mood after.

5. "Gilmore Girls."

After a long day or night of studying, who doesn’t want to take satisfaction in knowing that you’re making better life choices than Rory Gilmore? If you're watching the early seasons, Rory will be the motivation you need to keep grinding. If you're watching the later seasons, Rory will still remind you to avoid acting like her at all costs.

Don't let these shows consume your finals week, but watch one or two when you need a study break. You can refer back to this list when you are done! Remember, summer is right around the corner. Happy studying everyone, and good luck!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
