I don't say it enough.

5 Truths I Want My Sister to Know
Hanna Smith

Sissy,

The older we get, the more we are pulled in different directions. You are making your own life without me, and me without you. Milestones aren't being experienced together, and are instead retold through FaceTime. Our separate schedules are making us busier than ever, forcing us to catch up over text and Snapchat. And, all of the sudden, jamming out to music on the late night ice cream runs are rare. Seeing you face to face is now a carefully orchestrated trip, whereas it used to just be two steps down the hall to your room. As life constantly changes forcing our relationship into various phases, there are five truths I want you to remember will always remain the same.

1. You will always be my best friend

You were my first friend, you will be my last friend. You know the ugliest parts of me - the screaming matches with mom and dad, the emotional rollercoasters of crushes, the judgmental criticisms - and you still stick around (kinda because you have to). Please know: No friendship I will come to form in the days to come will ever compare to the friendship I have with you. You will never be replaced.

2. We won't stop laughing

The countless inside jokes we have prove that we are the only ones who think we are funny. Our humor is so unique and always will be. There's nothing quite like the bellyaches from giggling so hard at something we don't even remember was funny in the first place.

3. I will continue to compare myself to you

Sis, I think you are the coolest person in the world. I want to be you when I grow up. Ever since we were little I have always been envious of your effortless beauty, natural talents, and unshakeable confidence. I will continue to strive to be like you because in you I see the person I one day wish to be.

4. We will always share the same love for the music we were raised on

I know I can always count on you to go with me to that concert none of my other friends will go to. Our parents raised us with the taste of music we can now share. I know that whenever I listen to an oldie but a goodie you'll be doing the same, jamming out to the same tunes we grew up on.

5. Sister time will always be quality time

From exploring new places to binge watching "The Office" to having a photoshoot to eating our favorite kind of ice cream to jamming out to Taylor Swift, time with you is so treasured. I know that whatever we do, time together will never be wasted.

Love you forever, Seeeester.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
