5 Truths About Living With A Rude Dog

A few months ago I became a dog mom. It's great, I love having a furry pal to do everything with me. Having a dog is great and it's everything I've ever wanted, and my dog is adorable but there is one thing that makes being a dog parent a little difficult...my dog is a rude dog. And if my months as a dog parent has taught me anything, it's that there are certain guarantees in life that come with having a rude dog.

1. There's no such thing as privacy

When I try to sneak off to the bathroom alone I am very quickly interrupted by the sound of scratching at the door, because how dare I try to get a little privacy in the bathroom. My dog insists on following me to the bathroom and plopping down on the floor and just laying there watching me. Showers are fun too, there's nothing like being in the middle of shampooing your hair and being greeted with a dog head inside the curtain trying to catch the mysterious water falling from the ceiling.

2. Clothes on the floor are never safe

I feel like it's safe to say that for a lot of people, the clothes don't always make it right to the basket. When you have a rude dog, laundry beware because anything left on the floor is free game to become either a makeshift dog bed or a chew toy (R.I.P to my favorite pair of leggings)

3. Rude dogs may also be nosey dogs

My dog is always lurking, I can't even count the times I've tripped over her while she's lurking out the window at the cats and neighbors and squirrels. She's constantly lurking about the house making sure she knows what everyone is doing at all times.

4. Rude dogs like to make a little trouble

Whether it's dumping the water bowl from digging in it, unrolling the toilet paper or stealing snacks off the shelf when nobody is looking, rude dogs know how to stir up some trouble. Anytime my dog disappears for more than five minutes, I immediately prepare myself to find a major mess (and most of the times I'm right).

5. Rude dogs are still good dogs

Sure my dog may be a little rude and is one heck of a mess maker, but I lover her all the same. Shes loyal and loving and her antics keep me on my toes. She may make me pull my hair out some days, but I wouldn't change a thing about her. She may be a rude dog, but she's MY rude dog and I love her for it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
