5 Trends From Middle School That Were Just The Worst

Everyone had rough Middle School years, those are the years that you don't want anyone to see pictures from. But not all of Middle School was that bad, but there were some trends that we really just shouldn't ever bring up again. These were are dark days and these trends need to stay away forever just like our 6th grade yearbook photo.

1. Silly Bandz

Basically if you didn't have Silly Bandz you weren't cool, they were probably the coolest yet stupidest things to come out of our Middle School years. Everyone wanted them and there is a chance that when you were at the store with your mom you begged for a pack.

2. Feathers In Your Hair

We were all really trying to be like Kesha in some way, feathers in our hair was the cool thing that everyone wanted. When your parents said no to getting them done professionally you went to the store and got clip-ins that you would take out before you got home so your parents wouldn't know.

3. Hair chalk

Then there was hair chalk, for when your parents wanted to ruin your life by not letting you dye your hair bright pink. Instead they bought you hair chalk, that way you could be rebellious but then when you showered it would wash right out.

4. Crackle Nail Polish

This was probably my favorite trend of Middle School because it was pretty cool. Everyone thought you were some type of nail guru because you could paint your nails to look like that. But little did they know that it was just a topcoat that went on and made it crackle.

5. Uggs

Everyone had a pair of these chestnut Uggs because they were literally the most comfiest things in the entire world.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
