Unfortunately, fall break is over and we are back in classes again, but just because we had stressful midterm weeks before the break does not mean the midterm season is over. At Ohio State, midterms last for weeks, so here are some helpful tips to make the studying a little more bearable.
1. Caffeine. Caffeine. Caffeine.
Even if you aren't a coffee drinker, there are many different ways to get you through the sleepless nights. Tea is always a great option, and I wouldn't normally suggest energy drinks, but they definitely can be helpful at these stressful times. But I recommend coffee as the best way to keep yourself alert.
2. Sleep
Although caffeine is great to help you stay awake, make sure to get sleep. If you spend all night cramming for exams, you will be exhausted the next day. Get some sleep. You will do better on your exams and you will just feel 110% better.
3. Takes breaks
Even though you feel like there is no time to stop because you feel so stressed out and overloaded, but take a second to breath. Hang out with your friends, watch a movie, or binge-watch your fave mindless comedy to take your mind off the stress. Trust me, you need it.
4. Get fresh air
If you are like me, you stay hauled up in library or your room for way to long and you forget what sunlight is like. Step outside, and enjoy the fresh air. Do some studying outside as well. Just don't get distracted by the cute dogs you may see.
5. Look forward to the weekend
Take the weekends off. Go out with your friends. Get drunk. Or don't. Just do something fun because remember, you are only in college once, so don't spend all your weekends doing homework because they always say you won't remember the nights you spent studying.
