We all know it's finally here. We wish we could celebrate because school's over, but not just yet. A whole week dedicated to studying for 3-hour-long finals is just killer, so here's a few survival tips so you don't drive yourself crazy!
1. Yoga
If you have a membership to the RSF, there is at least 1-2 yoga classes a day! You don't have to be super flexible or really know what you're doing, they're easy beginner classes that are a nice 50-minute break to your hard day of studying.
2. Studying in Intervals
Your brain can only focus on hard material for 40 minutes every hour. Study hard and stay on task, and relax with 20 minutes of netflix or a nice hot shower!
3. Coffe/Tea + Naptime
Getting a little tired? Drink a cup of coffee or tea right before taking a 20 minute nap. The caffeine takes about 20-25 minutes to kick in, so by the time you wake up your blood will be pumping and you'll have that extra oomph to keep you going.Â
4. Study GroupsÂ
Find some time to meet up with a few friends from class to run over the material. It's good to get some new perspectives and insights, as well as review what you know by talking about it. You can reserve rooms in some of the Cal libraries, too! To reserve, click here!
5. Don't be afraid to go out once in a while!
You study extremely hard, and deserve to treat yo' self. It's ok to go out a couple nights during dead week and relax - barricading yourself in your room away from humanity for 7 days straight isn't healthy for anyone!Â
Good luck Bears, may the odds be ever in your favor ~~
