One semester down, seven to go! (For most people, anyways.) With freshman year halfway done now, it feels like we know the ins and outs of college, yet there is still so much more to learn. Here are 10 thoughts the typical second semester freshman may have:
1. This freshman 15 has got to go
Finally, we know the ins and outs of the dining halls. Sure, when there are curly fries, we will indulge, but we now have made pretty good friends with the healthy smoothie bar and the vegan sauté station.
2. No more looking like a lost puppy
We finally know the buildings like the back of our hands. The campus is our oyster. You can also catch tourists asking us where different places are because we appear that local now.
3. We may actually now know what we want to do with our lives
This semester, classes actually are starting to pertain to our intended majors. And even if we still don't know exactly what we want to do with our lives, we sure know what we do not want to do.
4. Friend groups are forming
Sure, we will still wave to our orientation friends from the summer before school started, but now we are actually starting to form lifelong friendships from classes, activities, etc.
5. Some of us actually have extra spending money
The second semester of the school year is an ideal time to start searching for a job since we now know what college life is like. Those outings won't pay for themselves!
Freshman year in general is a time to find yourself and explore, but the second semester definitely comes with more assurance and relief!
