November means falling leaves, bright colors, cool air and is a college student’s worst nightmare.
We all know that we have to crank down and toughen up before relaxing and devouring food during Thanksgiving break. However, it’s not easy doing so much in so little time, and the thoughts that cross every college student's mind during "Nightmare November" only prove it.
So, let's dig deep with an exclusive sneak peak into the life of a college student who is eagerly counting down the days until Thanksgiving Break:
1. Midterms season, you're the actual worst.
Oh, so the final isn’t enough? No worries, Professor, I’ll just drop all of my other classes and stop binge-watching Netflix in order to prepare for the dreaded exam. I could fill an entire blue book on how much other work I could be doing, but don’t worry, my life is being put on hold only for your class.
2. Professors, it's time to take a chill pill.
OK Professor, I almost liked you for a second. Two papers, a group project and 50 pages of reading just for this week, though? Do you not remember that midterm that you gave us last class? No? I mean, it was two days ago, but who hurt you that bad?
3. Oh my God, it’s already mid-November.
Those projects, though? They were just assigned last week! How could they be due … tomorrow? Isn’t it beautiful how time flies when you’re stressing out.
4. Look at me go, with that not quite 4.0.
Not trying to brag, but I’ve run on five hours of sleep and a high junk food intake for about a month now. I have also somehow managed to maintain my academics without fully tainting my mental and physical health. Me, the real MVP? Yeah, I know.
5. I cannot wait to go home.
The reward for all of the hard work is almost here. Just imagine it — football on the TV, a home-cooked meal on the table and a house filled with family. Oh, what pure bliss! Thanksgiving Break, I am ready for you more than ever before.
