It is finally finals season, and while that itself is a nightmare, the summer that follows is something that college students all over have long been looking forward to. A nice break is a much needed end to the year. Although it can be a bit sad leaving the place that so many have learned to call home over the past several months, the fact of the matter is that there are quite a few aspects of college life that will not be missed at all. From studying-induced sleep deprivation to the struggles of the dorms, some parts of college will not be hard to leave behind for while.
1. Homework
Throwback to when teachers in high school said that homework won't be mandatory or graded in college. The opposite is true. While I truly do believe that graded homework is key to a successful education, that definitely doesn't mean I'll be missing it.
2. Finals
The word "finals" just makes me shudder. And gives me a headache. And makes me want to cry.
3. Dorms
To be fair, I got lucky with my dorm this year. It's new and fairly nice, but I'm ready to live somewhere other than a box. At least at home, I don't have to hear groups of college students yelling in the hall at 3 a.m. when I'm trying to sleep.
4. Dorm Bathrooms
Yes, they're technically part of the dorms, but they are bad enough to get their own category. I'm ready to live somewhere where I don't have to carry around my own roll of toilet paper or wear flip-flops in the shower anymore.
5. Campus Food
I'm not going to pretend that all campus food is bad. Some is honestly pretty good. After a whole school year of eating it, though, I'm ready to say bye to the dining halls and hello to homemade meals.
