Most people on a daily basis stop at least once a day at a coffee shop. We meet many baristas day in and day out, and we have a different experience every time. Whether you are employed by a coffee chain such as Dunkin Donuts, Aroma Joes, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, or even by any small hole in the wall coffee shop, these are the things that we want you to know.

1. When you're in a bad mood, that puts me in a bad mood too.

Whether you enjoy your job or not, how you speak to us, and your overall disposition can change our day. Whether you realize it or not, the one minute of interaction you have with me can drastically change my mood.

2. When I'm finished with my order, I will tell you.

So many times I have had somebody taking my order and after every single thing I order they reply, "okay is that all?". When I am finished my order I will say "that is it".

3. Bad coffee can ruin a day.

People make mistakes, it's part of human nature. However, if that mistake happens often or you simply aren't listening and give blueberry when I ordered Hazelnut, that's really a bad way to start off somebodies day.

4. My order is important.

Even though it doesn't always seem it, when I order something specific, it's for a reason. When I order almond milk, it's because regular milk will make me sick, not because I'm picky.

5. We appreciate you so much.

Whether you realize it or not, your job is bigger than you realize. We appreciate everything that you do.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
