With Trump in office this past Friday (the 20th), here are a few things you should do post-inauguration. In other words, here are five things I am going to do because I can't deal with the thought of even thinking about it. These five things have helped me and I hope they help you too.
1. Turn Off The Television.
This is what I will be doing.
The media is going to be all over Trump and I will have no part of that.
I would rather listen to Nickleback instead.
2. Cry (If You Need To).
This is a moment where you need to let it out. We know what is coming and so do you, so let's just let it out together.
3. Spread Positivity.
Post on social media, but post positivity. Don't troll or talk about Trump, that only lets him see that he is making an impact. Spread love and make sure everyone is feeling safe in a scary time like this.
4. Turn Off Social Media.
If need be, just turn off social media and watch Netflix. There is nothing wrong with that. You do not want to keep seeing that BS on your timeline, nor do I, so let's leave it at that.
5. Stay Woke.
Keep aware. Keep these issues being talked about. Keep aware of what is going on. Don't let a Trump fool take that away from you. We are still a nation, if anything, Obama left us with a little bit of hope. Let's use that hope and try and continue it.
I don't know if this will help you, but it is going to help me.
Do what you need to cleanse yourself, times are about to get weird and we need to keep on that positive flow.
Keep all the vibes good, say "fuck you" to racism and step with some extra flare these next four years. No one can tell you anything, you are powerful, you are you and you are unique.
Obama is still a part of all of us, let's keep that faith.
