Graduation day stands out as one of the most memorable days in our lives, whether that be from High School or College. After Graduation, it is up to us to determine how or if we will reach a level of success that we are satisfied with. It is frightening to think about what life may have in store for you. Here is a list of things that commonly come to mind after we graduate from school:

1. Is This Really Happening?

Throughout the weeks prior to your graduation, the feeling that you will soon be done with school forever is surreal. Even during your graduation ceremony, it is hard to face this reality. It usually isn’t until after the commencement ceremony that graduates really accept the fact that they will never have homework ever again.

2. What’s Next?

Once a student has come to realize that they are in fact done with their education, the thought of what to do next soon follows. While all the free time that you will have in the weeks following your graduation, you need to keep in mind that you need to apply your knowledge to the world. Your future can be an intimidating thought, however, achieving a successful future is not as hard of a task as it seems if you remain proactive after you graduate.

3. How Do I Spend All Of This Free Time?

One of the best things that are associated with graduation is the amount of free time you will have now that you are done with school. Believe it or not, it can be difficult to get through the post graduation days, prior to getting a job, as it can be easy to become bored after about 2 weeks of doing nothing but playing video games, binge-watching Netflix, and watching YouTube videos.

4. PTSD

Something that most graduates experience is some form of school centralized posttraumatic stress. It is not uncommon to wake up in a panic, thinking that you forgot to turn in an assignment or that you have an assignment that is due. Just as quickly as you jolt out of bed you come to the realization that it is just in your head and that you do not have an assignment due. While it can be annoying waking up panicking about a homework assignment that is a figment of your imagination, you can't help but smile because you can go back to bed knowing that you will never have another worksheet, group project, research paper, or any other form of homework assignment ever again.

5. Where Do I Want To Live?

Another benefit that is associated with graduation is the fact that you are free to go anywhere in the world to begin setting up your future. Once you graduate from school the sky really is the limit, as how hard you work after graduation will determine how successful you will be. As millennias, we are encouraged to use our youth to explore the world, so why not take apply your knowledge in a place you’ve always wanted to live such as a big city like New York City or Los Angles.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
