To my friends I have made in college, thank you.
1. For making the most of the awkward beginning with me.
For most of us, we haven’t had to really take this step in our lives since we were little so it was scary not knowing whether or not we would actually meet our “lifelong friends” as everyone has said you do in college. We were thrust into the situation of having to make new friends in a new place and you guys made it so easy to become close so quickly.
2. For making the transition easier.
Freshman year first semester in college is a big step for everyone. None of us have ever done this before and it is a whole new and sometimes rather difficult experience for everyone. You guys made it so much easier. After you leave many of your friends from home to go your separate ways in college, you lose the ability to go down the street to talk to them in person about your life. You guys are always right around the corner from being able to meet up when I need you.
3. For always being down to go to the dining courts.
This is an important one because who actually enjoys eating alone? Not me. You guys made it a whole lot less awkward for me to go and get stacks of plates at the D-courts and instead joined in on smashing all the food we can possibly eat. Shout-out Hillyb for being the prime spot.
4. For taking the time to get to know me.
Thank you for not being an overly judgmental person and actually getting to know me, I appreciate how you formed your own opinions on me based off of spending time with me rather than from what you heard from others. Thank you for not being the type of person who doesn’t branch out from their high school group and never took the chance to meet people.
5. For being just as psycho as me.
I am really glad I have found people who don’t pretend to be something they aren’t. Thank you for being authentic with me and making it easy for me to be real with you. I feel so blessed to have found girls who aren’t afraid to be their crazy, funny, sweet selves. I am so happy I have found some psychos who get me.
