5 Things You Need To Remember To Do During Finals

Because we all forget the important stuff when we're doing other important stuff.

Nothing truly ruins the most wonderful time of the year like finals do. It's truly the most stressful time of the year, and it happens twice. Finals are hard. Finals are a true pain and, honestly, they're a killer. We all get caught up in the stress and workload and forget to do some things we really need to do for ourselves.

1. Sleep!

All-nighters are okay sometimes. But during finals, they're not a good idea. You need rest before a test. When its Tuesday afternoon and you can't remember the last time you slept, you have a big problem. Rest up; you really need it.

2. Eat!

Candy and chips don't count. You need real food, like a good meal, even if that means Dominos in the library or Jimmy John's in a collab room. Something is better than junk food.

3. Take a break!

You know when you've been in the library or study room for more hours than you can count, it's way too much. That's when you know it's time for a ~break~. Even if it means walking to get coffee or food, or taking a walk around campus for some fresh air, you need it.

4. Take a shower!

I know what you're thinking, but we've all been there. It's Wednesday and your hair is surviving purely on dry shampoo. Put down the textbook and get in the shower. You'll feel better, and so will everyone around you.

5. Focus!

Think about things in the order they're going to come up. Don't stress about the stuff that's due at the end of the week. Don't worry about your last final. Focus on what is in front of you. That's most important.

We're all going to get through this week from absolute hell, and we're all going to enjoy three weeks off. Honestly, we're gonna need it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
