5 Things Overpreparers Do

Next week's deadlines are today's headlines.

5 Things Overpreparers Do

1. Organize schedules

Every meeting, date, and time is in your planner. It is your go-to for your lifestyle, making you feel more relaxed by seeing what is ahead of you every week. Knowing what deadline is approaching and how far out the new ones are brings you comfort and a certain hold on the craziness of life. In addition to schedules, you organize your free time by deciding what is happening and when. Organizing other things as well lessens the distractions around you!

2. If things aren't done in advance, they are already late.

Waiting till the morning off to do your homework is not a thing. There will always be something coming or due, and your free time is the opportunity to work ahead and relieve yourself of stress later. Sure, there are times when you reward yourself with a couple Netflix episodes, but not after accomplishing your goals for the night!

3. May also be perfectionists

If this hasn't indicated you are a Type A personality, well surprise, you are. Everything should be done well and because ofthe amount of time you had to spend on it. If you make the effort to get things done ahead of time, then I am willing to bet you are the type of person who is a little OCD about the way things get done. Your work is not sloppy!

4. Think too much!

Overanalyze, overanalyze, overanalyze. Being a detail-oriented person kills you sometimes because no one cares about the little stuff that you care about. (This might tie into the perfectionist point!) You assess your situation and the decisions you are making, being careful to choose the best path.

5. What is free time?

You are on the move. While other people aren't doing that assignment due next week, you are staying up the extra hours to get it done. Why? Because you had some time to spare, and time is valuable. There is no such thing as free time because there is always something to get done! What are you doing, you have a test in 9 days! You could be studying!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
