Thinking back to two years ago, just having graduated from high school, I never could've imagined falling in love with the school I picked. Sure, I liked the school more than any other I toured, but going to an out of state school while all of my best friends stayed close to home at in-state schools, had me thinking that I would be coming home as many weekends as I could, and that it wouldn't be such a tragedy if I decided to transfer to a school closer to home. Boy, was I wrong. Now, as summer is coming to an end, and Junior year is approaching, I couldn't imagine myself at any other college. Here are five things I miss while being home for the summer.

1. My college best friends.

I've made the best of friends at college, and I wouldn't trade them in for anything. Nothing compares to the people you spend almost everyday with during your four years at college. We've seen each other at our worsts, and built each other up to our bests.

2. The independence.

After being away from your parents for a year and not having to tell them where you're going every time you go out, you get pretty used to marching to the beat of your own drum. Now you have to get readjusted to your parents being your Field Commanders for the summer.

3. The dining halls.

Dare I say it, but sometimes the food wasn't half bad. But the part I miss most is being able to eat every meal with your best friends.

4. The busy schedule.

During the summer, I mostly just work, and while that does keep me busy at times, I miss having my week filled. Even when I did have free time, my friends and I always found a fun way to spend it. I miss the days of leaving in the morning for class and not getting back to my room until after dinner.

5. The parties.

Nothing gets me more excited than going out on the weekends with my best friends. Going out and dancing all night is where we've made some of the best memories.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
