5 Things I've Learned From Being on TRL
Wikipedia

Total Request Live (TRL), an MTV T.V Series originally aired between 1998-2008, made its official debut back on T.V on October 2nd, 2017. TRL was THE show that paved way for stars like Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Britney Spears and Eminem. It was THE destination spot for celebrities to visit in the heart of New York City.

While TRL in 1998-2008 was all about the music, the reboot version is a little bit different. While it is still about the music, with viewers in control of it all, this new version captures all the latest news in the entertainment/pop industry. Guest stars like Liam Payne, Yo Gotti, Gabbie Hanna, Liza Koshy and the Dolan Twins also compete in various challenges, thus allowing them to connect with their fans more than ever.

TRL is FREE and open to the public. I was lucky enough to score tickets to the October 13th, 2017 show and here is what I learned from it all..

5. Everything Runs On A “Time Slot” Basis:

There is only so much a show can do in the time that it is allotted. From moving camera equipment in between commercials, to guiding the crowd to what they call “uptown” or “downtown” of the studio, be ready to move quick (especially if you want a good spot!).

4. There Is A LOT of Fan Interaction:

Whether the cameras are off or on, the members of TRL interact with the crowd as much as they can. They dance with you, sing with you and even throw some TRL swag at you. Most importantly, they get you “hyped up” for upcoming segments and performances.

3. Be Prepared To Dance:

Ladies and Gents, if you plan on being on the show, get those hips moving. There is A LOT of dancing involved, especially during the pre-show and commercial breaks. So, put on Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie and start practicing!

2. It’s All Fun and Games Until You’re Facing #ShortPeopleProblems:

The TRL Studio itself is quite big. It can fit quite a large amount of people and if you’re anything like me, small and short, then you can have quite the struggle of seeing anything and everything, even in heels! If there is anything that I would change about the show, this would be it. Come on, help a girl out. #ShortPeopleProblems

1. Matt Rife Is An Absolute BABE:

Matt Rife is one of TRL’s many hosts. Not only is he an incredible, hilarious host, but he is also incredibly cute. I’ll definitely be trying to score some more tickets just to see him in all his greatness and glory. Need I say more?

Catch TRL on MTV, weekdays at 3:30 PM. You don’t want to miss it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
