5 Things To Include When Starting Your Bulldog Bucket List
Mississippi State University

It has been almost a month since classes started. As a bulldog alumni, having a Bulldog Bucket List always kept me excited about the things I would get to cross off and then finding new ones to add. There is so much excitement surrounding both Mississippi State University and the Starkville community. This is just a simple guide of a few ideas to start with for those who are new to Starkville and MSU whether you are an incoming freshman or a transfer student continuing your education.

1. Go to the Football Games

I encourage you to get student tickets and take advantage of incredible atmosphere that Davis Wade Stadium offers. I guarantee you that it is an experience like no other. Tailgating at The Junction is just a part of the fun that surrounds game days, but I suggest getting in line early at least for one game and sitting right up front. You'll have an awesome view and even may get on television. Don't forget: tradition says that you cannot buy your own cowbell!

2. Get a biscuit (or 2 or 3) from The Biscuit Shop

Sprinkles, Maple Bacon, and Blueberry oh my! These are only a few of the many flavors that The Biscuit Shop offers on various days of the week. Their hours are from 6:30-2:00 on Tuesday's through Saturday's. Follow them on Instagram and you'll get updates on their "shelfie status" throughout the day!

3. Take pictures with the statues of Bully on campus

With pictures come memories! One of the best photo op spots happen to be right on The Junction in from of the stadium with Bully. Whether it's on game day or the day before graduation, don't leave Mississippi State without getting a picture.

4. Visit the Chapel of Memories

The Chapel of Memories is one of the most stunning places to visit on campus. It is a perfect spot for portraits, studying, weddings, or just getting away from the business of the day. If you happen to play the piano you can take a study break inside the chapel for some stress relief. At times the sun shines through the stained glass creating such a beautiful reflection inside of the building.

5. Get Involved

Whether it's joining a club, playing in the band, or involvement in sports get involved on campus! Make friends who will help you make memories. There is a place for everyone here, we're all family! Join clubs associated with your major. Step outside of your comfort zone and join a club that you have always been interested in but opted out of. Take advantage of info sessions and events such as "Shades of Starkville" which is organized for student involvement.

These are going to be some of the best years of your life and somehow they seem to fly by! These are only a few of the many items that I had and was able to cross off of my own "Bulldog Bucket List". Take these and begin creating your own whether you are an incoming freshman or fifth-year senior!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
