Anyone who loves "How I Met Your Mother" knows that there is a lot encompassed within the show. It's nine seasons of listening to Ted reveal how he met his wife, and all of the crazy and unfortunate relationships that he experienced until he met the one. It is also nine seasons of dirty jokes, friendship, and all the feels.

1. Your real friends will always be there for you.

The "HIMYM" squad is an interesting one, composed of a hopeless romantic, a Canadian, a rich, partially insane playboy, and the world's most perfect couple. Despite their differences, the squad was always there for each other, through a father's death, being left at the altar, losing an amazing work opportunity, and months of unemployment. But they were also there for meeting a father, two weddings, three dream jobs, and the birth of a beautiful baby. Your real friends will be there through the worst of times, but also the best of times.

2. Not everyone is going to support you.

College is not easy by any means. Traditional students live on campus and are away from home for the first time. So many students struggle with the adjustment from home to college, and things aren't made easier when there are people against you. "HIMYM"sees this perfectly in the relationship of Ted and Zoey. They very clearly have the hots for each other, but Zoey is determined to prevent Ted from achieving one of his lifelong dreams as an architect. We also see this in the relationship between Robin and her dad, who doesn't support her. Despite the struggles from their loved ones, Ted and Robin both figure out a way to be successful. When you encounter people in your life who hold you back, just remember that no one can stop your dreams except you, and the only opinions that matter are yours, and those of the people who are supporting you and your dreams.

3. It is possible to meet the love of your life in college.

Lily and Marshall are arguably the greatest couple in all of television history, in my opinion. Throughout the timeline of "HIMYM,"we learn that Lily and Marshall didn't exactly meet through fate, but through Lily taking matters into her own hands (which we all know she does on the regular). It's OK, though, because it was still love at first sight. We witnessed 17 years of their endless, passionate, and beautiful love. So it is possible to meet the love of your life in college; that doesn't mean you will, and it doesn't mean you won't. If you think you have, go for it, because you could be the next Lily and Marshall.

4. Do not get drunk every weekend.

Anyone who watches "HIMYM" knows Maclaren's Pub is the place to be, and that is where the squad usually is. The end booth has been the hot spot for many stories, jokes, and shenanigans, and also the spot where the nights get crazy. Way too many challenges were accepted, leading to Barney trying to sleep with Marshall's law professor, pick up a girl by talking like a baby, and pick up a girl while looking like an 80-year-old man. (Side note: Please, do not get drunk and sleep with a professor.) Drunken nights also lead to finding a goat in the bathroom, sleeping with one of your best friends, and puking on a cop car. Going out and having a good time is no bad thing, but all good things are best in moderation, so limit yourself to the partying and drinking, but keep the fun.

5. Make it legend -- wait for it -- dary.

College is meant to be the best four years of your life. You are on your own for the first time, living it up with your friends. You can do whatever you want (if legal) and get the chance to be your own person or discover who you are and who you want to be. Make the most of this time, because you really only live once. Barney Stinson has done many crazy things, all in the name of awesomeness, but the one thing he was always right about was making it legendary. It doesn't matter what "it" is. Whether it's a school project, or a night with the girls, or just lying in bed reading, have fun with it. College is a long, rough four years, but it also flies by way too fast. So make the memories, and live legendary.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
