Whether it be leaving the department store with every fall flavor out there or taking a breath before ordering your fall coffee, these five things make all the ladies fall for fall (Ha! See what I did there?....I’ll see myself out.) Anyways, don’t be ashamed to light up your house with pumpkin spice (take caution of course), carve that perfect pumpkin for your doorstep, buy flannels on flannels for the fall chill, or avoid stares during your coffee order. Fall is here, ladies.

1. Candles

Any special holiday calls for candles that bring on those wonderful scents we identify with whether it be Thanksgiving, Christmas, springtime, or just that relaxing smell to get through those long nights of studying. You can bet that once those leaves change even the slightest bit, the need for pumpkin spice candles goes through the roof. Leaves fall and so does the number in my bank account. Ladies, am I right?

2. Wreaths

Whether you live in an apartment or a house, every door deserves a wreath. You know which ones I’m talking about, too. You’ve probably walked into Hobby Lobby or Michael’s and been overwhelmed with the amount of festive decorations that can go on something as simple as a woven circle. Beware, ladies, these things will yet again ruin your bank account. For those of you who like to get crafty, I tip my hat. Mine ends up looking like something I crafted in pre-school…and even that is being generous.

3. Pumpkins

I don’t know about y’all but I have definitely planned my trip to the pumpkin patch…in mid-October…but it’s fine. Fall calls for pumpkins on the porch, pumpkins on the coffee table, and pumpkins wherever you can think of. A trip to the pumpkin patch is on the agenda, girls and it is perfectly fine.

4. Flannels

Here come the fall advertisements at your favorite department stores and what do you see? Flannels, flannels, and more flannels. I am almost positive they come in every color known to man, and as trendy fall gals we cannot resist the urge to go buy that royal blue, deep burgundy red, charcoal gray, midnight black, and butterscotch yellow flannel for hayrides, campfires, and chilly walks to class on crisp fall days. Whatever the occasion, flannels are definitely what a girl wants during the fall season.

5. Ridiculous Coffee Flavors

If you are alive on planet earth I am sure you have heard of flavors of coffee along the lines of pumpkin spice, chile mocha java with a side of Halloween (okay maybe not that extreme but you get my point). Whatever your poison, the ridiculous coffee flavors come out to play and what do we do? We want it. Even the simple the smell of your coffee pot or Keurig brewing that coffee flavor that you have to look up every year because the name is too long makes us think fall and that is enough for us. Right? You can quit reading if I have guessed wrong.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
