The Windy City is best known for its attractions, deep dish pizza, and sports, but it also has many hidden gems that many visitors don't know of. If you're planning on visiting any time soon, take a look at these places and activities and be sure to try them out! You won't regret it!
1. Allium Lounge at Four Seasons
During the cold and snowy winter months of Chicago, the Allium Lounge at Four Seasons Hotel is a great place to warm up. They have a great menu consisting of many delicious food and drink options. My personal favorites are the soft pretzel bites and the hot cocoa, which comes with its own little bowl of whipped cream! Plus, the atmosphere is extremely cozy with its luscious velvet furniture, so don't be surprised if you fall asleep.
2. Maggie Daley Park
Maggie Daley Park is a child's dream. With its colorful equipment attracting children of all ages (even me), you can't miss it. It consists of an ice rink, a huge playground with bridges, swings, and towers, and a jaw-dropping view of the skyline and Lake Michigan. It's a perfect place for pictures as well! It's also right outside of Millennium Park, so you might as well plan a visit after the Bean!
3. Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo
Obviously, this attraction only comes around once a year, during Christmas, so take advantage while you can! The Lincoln Park zoo is dazzled with many twinkling light scenes, which you are sure to admire! It makes a great family outing, activity, or even a date! The zoo is free to all, so come on out and enjoy the beauty!
4. Dylan's Candy Bar
This sugar trap beckons you from afar, forcing you to enter and leave with a sugar coma. Consisting of two floors filled with candy, there is something for everyone: gummies and chocolate, to nostalgic candy. The apparel is great too: There are robes, shorts, tank tops, and even pajamas! There is also a fudge station, a party room, and a cafe with ice cream and candy flavored drinks.
5. Boat Tours
Honestly, where else can you get an amazing tour of the city, along with a beautiful view of downtown and Lake Michigan? Nowhere. These boat tours allow you to witness the pure beauty of Chi-Town, and get to know some of the city's interesting historical facts. It's beautiful at night, too!
