5 Things To Do During And After Finals Week

Because this time is VERY stressful.

Hi friends! It's finals week, I know you're all dying and quite frankly so am I. If you need any context for how my life has been recently, I was writing a term paper and I started crying and had to actually stop writing so I could calm down and then I just went to bed. Needless to say, finals time is terrible.

But I've come up with a list of things that are way better than finals and that you can enjoy during or after this horrific period in every college student's life.

1. Drink coffee or hot chocolate

And I didn't mention tea because people who drink tea are boujie and they think they're better than me. Besides everyone knows exams suck the life out of you and the only way to survive that is with caffeine. And if you're not into coffee, hot chocolate is just and warm as festive! So while you fry your brain, you can fry your intestines as well!

2. SHOPPING

Okay yes I know I suggest shopping as a cure for everything, but I do ALWAYS feel better when I buy something. That is until I see my credit card bill. But I do recommend buying yourself something small that brings you joy so maybe you won't be tempted to cry every day during finals like I am.

3. Listen to some dope tunes

I also recommend music as the answer to everything and maybe everyone isn't as cray cray about music as I am but I know that's a sure fire way for me to take my mind off of hard things. I'm listening to music as I'm writing this article (obviously). Also depending on what music it is, it can be really calming or motivating for you. I have a self-empowering playlist that always makes me feel powerful and like I can conquer anything, including group projects.

4. Hang out with your buddies

Yes, me, antisocial Drew, said go see your friends. But don't distract them from studying because they have finals too. However, if it just so happens that you two don't have a final on the same day or at the very least can find two hours to hang out before you both depart, do that. I've made quite a few friends lately and I hope I get at least a few of them to hang out with me before they leave.

5. Go see your favorite professor

Yes, I realize that the whole entire reason you're stressed is probably because of them. However, I bet you all have a favorite professor. So go see them. Maybe they can help you with the content or studying for the exam you're most worried about, maybe they can make you laugh, or, at the very least take your mind off of said exam.

Here are a few little things you can do during or after exam week. But please also get rest, drink water and obviously STUDY. Do your best, friends I'm rooting for you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
