As we are becoming more immersed in the holiday season, Christmas (and Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and all other holidays) are approaching more quickly than ever. With that being said, it is the season of giving, which basically means other people are giving as well, so you're receiving a ton of gifts.
When you're asked what you want for Christmas as a college student, you begin to think more practically and rationally, so you ask for things such as gift cards, subscriptions to Spotify, gym clothes, business clothes, a briefcase and a bunch of other things you wouldn't really ask for when you were in high school.
This year, I will admit, I am asking for some of those previously mentioned gifts, but is that what we truly want as Alabama students? This year's Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) you should really be asking for these gifts.
1. Winning the National Championship.
We all know we're way better than Clemson, Ohio State and Notre Dame. No Christmas present would be better than seeing Saban smiling holding up that trophy again.
2. No cover at the bars next semester.
Gallette's, Red Shed, Innisfree, Bear Trap, come on. So many college students lack having cash on them 95 percent of the time, why do you have to do this to us? Give us the gift of being able to walk into the bar for free (we promise we'll make the money up by buying more drinks).
3. UA Parking to be a little nicer.
UA Parking-- we respect that it is your job to give tickets out the wazoo, but cut us some slack. Sorry that there are only four 30-minute parking spots at the Ferg, and that I parked in a regular spot to pick up a package and get some Starbucks. And no, I'm not paying the $25 ticket.
4. Dining Dollars to be accepted in more places.
Dining Dollars save all of our butts when it comes to spending money on food. Bank account running low? Just use your "fake monopoly money" at B Phil's. This Christmas, it would be awesome to come back and more places on campus and off are accepting DD.
5. Derrick Henry wins the Heisman Trophy.
After putting Leonard Fournette to shame during the LSU game, the entire study body at Alabama is hoping and praying for Derrick Henry to win the Heisman.
