The year that most people in the United States look forward to has finally arrived for me. The ultimate 21st birthday. I have never been one to think much about this birthday as I see it as just another day. But it's still a day that deserves recognition.

Man, I’m old.

I only have one year left of college and then I'll be off on my own in the real world. High school ended for me almost three years ago already. How. When did that happen?

I can finally legally drink.

A lot of people start drinking well before their 21stbirthday but this is finally the time where I can go out and buy alcohol on my own.

I haven’t been a teen for two years

Where did all this time go? I'm already halfway to 40. People say age is a just a number but it's a number that needs to slow down. In four years, I'll be halfway to 50.

Still don’t know which generation I am considered

Some people say I'm part of Generation Z and some people say Millennials. According to Pew Research Center, I am part of Generation Z but I know some people say otherwise. People need to make up their mind. I don't care which one I am but just pick one!

Can’t wait to see what’s on the road ahead

Giphy

My teen years are behind me and my 20s are full-speed ahead. I'm ready to see where my life takes me and what opportunities may come up along the way.

Turning 21 is a big event for most Americans. It's a time to celebrate and a time to look forward to. 21 here I come!

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.
