5 Tattoos I Need Right Now

I'm sorry Mom and Dad

Currently, I only have one tattoo, which is 14 in Roman numerals on my foot. Fourteen in The Bible means deliverance, which is what I was given in the worst time of my life. God gave me true deliverance and I wanted to put that as a permanent reminder.

My first experience was that bad if you disregard the fact that my tattoo artist went a little too deep and I almost had full tattoo blowout. Luckily, I saved it. After my experience, I was on a quest to get more tattoos. Sorry, Mom and Dad...but it is true. I am in love with tattoos, so I have chosen five tattoos I am obsessed with and where I want to get them.

1. "To the moon and back"

This one is a bit emotional, so let's address it. When I was in a bad time of my life, my mom would send me "I love you to the moon and back" all the time just to remind me that she was always, always there. So, I want a moon tattoo, with some added flowers, to symbolize that no matter what I go through my mom loves me.

I know for sure I am getting this tattoo as my next one. I have already decided to put this on the inside of my elbow, so it is like a little secret to me, but it's not too hidden.

2. I love dogs more than most people

I'm obsessed with all things dogs. Seriously, I would cross a busy intersection just to play with a puppy. Ask anyone I know, I pause when I see a dog. My whole life dogs have been there for me in the darkest times and I can't remember my life without a pup by my side. It's only fitting I get a paw to commemorate all they have done for me.

I would put this tattoo on my left foot, but for no particular reasons other than I have one on my right.

3. Anything and everything floral

Okay, but look at it. Isn't that the cutest thing you have ever seen? As a kid, I spent my life outdoors. My dad challenged me to go get lost in the woods (which was impossible around my house), so I took the opportunity to stay outside all day. It feels right for me to get something to remind me the calmness of nature and all the moments I have rested in it.

Honestly, I think the placement on this picture is exactly where I would get mine because how adorable is that photo?

4. Save the bees!

I have strong, strong opinions about the honeybees. Honeybees are one of the most vital organisms on the planet. The fact that they are dying out makes my heart shatter into a million pieces. I find honeybees to be the most incredible insects.

I am unsure if I will even get this tattoo, but I thought that the back of my elbow or on my back. Since this one is a bit more artistic, I want it to be showcased.

5. "A Little Faith"

When I was going through my abuse, I heard a song that said "it only takes a little faith to move a mountain. Good thing a little faith is all I have, right now." (Even If, by Mercy Me) It spoke volumes to me and I thought if I can maintain this little faith through this, I can survive my trauma. That's exactly what I did.

This would for sure be my collarbone tattoo. I want this tattoo to be as close to my heart as possible because those words helped me push through all my abuse and believe in God more than my strength.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
