Go to college they said, it'll be worth it, they said. And while it definitely is, there are many struggles that arise the second we step on campus. Just a fair warning before we begin, the seemingly never-ending and ever-present battles we face are totally and completely self-inflicted, which probably makes us hypocrites for complaining about them. So here are five, of too many to count, struggles all coeds go through:
1. What even is makeup at this point?
Between late nights; early mornings, and sheer lack of motivation, the whole makeup routine quickly becomes an afterthought. In fact, times when you eventually stir up the energy to do it, they begin to feel like special occasions. But if you decide not to wear any, more power to you. You do you, girl.
2. Successfully sleeping in class
The key is to find the best ways to do it and memorize them for a foolproof and successful try every time. My advice, sitting in the back, especially in lectures, is always the first step.
3. Finding time to fit everything in
Especially going out Thursday-Saturday? And Netflix? I'm about three seasons behind on almost every show so basically all of that is out the window.
4. What money?
After being in college for about 2 seconds, you begin to realize you can't check your bank account without a little piece of yourself dying. And when a miracle happens and you get some money to your name, make sure to treasure it as long as you can.
5. It's all over before you know it
Just like treasuring whatever money you have to your name, it's also important to be present during your time as a student. There are amazing opportunities, experiences, friends, and memories to be made and it can't happen while you're elsewhere.
