I sit here writing this article as a study break on a day where I have so much to do I can barely wrap my head around it all. For anyone who's mind is full of to-dos right now, or stressed about other life things, relationships, work, etc., here are a few songs that just might be what you need to hear. Listen to one, listen to them all, do whatever suits you best :) They're here to remind you that you can always find the sunshine within and in the people and situations around you.

1. "Walking on Sunshine" Katrina and the Waves

You probably saw this one coming with the talk of sunshine in the intro, but seriously, can you listen to this song without at least smiling a bit or feeling a little more lively? I know I can't. My high school a cappella group performed this song, and the happy memories there add to the appeal, but it's also the beat and catchy tune to this song that reminds me that life is meant to be enjoyed, not endured.

2. "Overcomer" Mandisa

My religion teacher sent this song to my class during midterms freshman year and it's always been one that I've leaned back on when I feel like I have too much going on. Just reading the title itself, "Overcomer", gives me a sense that I am capable of doing whatever it is I need to right now. From a religious standpoint, the lyrics remind me that in times of stress, I can turn to God for reassurance. Even if you're not religious, I think we can all use these words of inspiration of not giving up and can relate to the fact that we can turn to those we love most in stressful times.

3. "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" Stevie Wonder

I'm going to be honest here, the version I listen to of this song is the Tori Kelly version from the movie Sing (if you haven't seen that movie check it out, it's heartwarming). Regardless, this song is perfect for those days where you can't seem to get those endless thoughts out of your head. Since a lot of song just repeats the title over and over, it almost becomes a mantra to hang onto. Worry doesn't work, readers! Remember that.

4. "Get Back Up Again" Anna Kendrick

Since the last song correlated to the movie Sing for me, I figured another animated movie's song wouldn't hurt. My cousin forced me to watch Trolls with her over Christmas break and there really is something so pure and whole about this song. The lyrics remind us that it is okay if we fall down, because we have the ability to stand right back up. Life isn't perfect, and there is nothing wrong with that. We have the possibility to recreate ourselves and rework our experiences every day and that's something to be embraced, not avoided!

5. "Unbreakable Smile" Tori Kelly

Here's a song that is actually by Tori Kelly :) I love the title of this song because there is something so beautiful about the fact that no matter what happens in life, we can continue to smile. Tori reminds us here that we are who we are, no one's opinions have to change that, and we can always choose happiness over all. Not to mention, her voice is angelic and just hearing it is sure to make you see that there is so much good in the world.

I hope that reading about and/or listening to these songs lifted your spirits at least a little bit, readers. Whatever you have going on right now, remember you are so capable of doing it all. You are so loved and valued always.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
