In the words of Ross Geller, "We were on a break!" How did these past few months just fly by so quickly?
Here I was getting into my little summer routine only to realize there's just a couple of weeks left to enjoy it. While this year I didn't get to go on vacation or do anything really fun, it was a time spent relaxing and catching up with family. I expect that plenty of students are going through the same emotions as myself so this list comes at a great time.
And since Ross Gellar happens to be my favorite character from Friends - and why not he's so relatable - that I thought creating a list of stages would be entertaining.
1. Casually attempting to act like summer isn't ending and life is all good...
No please, it's not like I realized I'll be back in a college apartment that I pay way too much for.
2. Until someone breaks your little bubble and your emotions just explode
I was ok until you decided to mention school again.
3. Then you try pleading with the universe to make time stop or slow down...
This is the stage where you try and compromise with the Universe that you'll do better, if only time could slow down, pretty please.
4. Depression
Knowing you have X amount of days left you just stop pretending everything is fine. All you want to do is get as much sleep and never come out from under the covers.
5. Lastly, acceptance that summer is over and we have to wait another 12 months.
Just because I've accepted my fate doesn't mean I'm happy about it. Until we meet again summer, see ya next time.
