Five Spring Fashion Trends I Love

Spring is upon us and I couldn't be happier. Spring fashion is probably my second favorite season of fashion, behind fall of course. 2016 has brought some incredible fashion pieces to my attention for the warm springtime and I can’t help but share. These are some of my favorite spring fashion trends of 2016.

Flutter Tops

I work as a Brand Ambassador at Banana Republic so I get the privilege of seeing all the new trends in fast fashion as soon as they arrive. Lately at work we’ve been getting in TONS, and I mean tons, of flutter tops. These cute little t-shirts with fluttery sleeves are perfect for when I’m super lazy but still want to be cute. It’s literally a t-shirt with adorable sleeves, what's not to love?!

Overalls

Now, I may be from the South, but overalls have never been my thing. My mom loves to tell the story of when I was a kid and she put me in denim overalls and I cried and cried and refused to wear them. I knew my fashion even as a baby. This spring, though, that has changed. I think overalls are so cute if they’re worn right. Overall shorts with a Calvin Klein Sports Bra underneath or a light shirt and bralette just seems like the perfect combo for a hot day. Pair this with some cute sandals and you have an adorable on the run outfit!

Birkenstocks

These are not everyone's cup of tea, and I totally get that because, up until now, they weren't mine either. I still honestly think they’re kinda ugly, but I’m kinda into the whole ugly cute thing they have going on. I picked up my pair of Birkenstockson a whim. I was in Charleston on spring break and I had brought my mom's old pair from the 80’s with me. While frolicking on the beach they broke, so I picked up a new pair, because I was actually starting to like the other pair. This was seriously the best decision I made because I’m IN LOVE. I can throw on my ‘stocks with literally any outfit, and they actually offer really good arch support, too, which is good for people with high arches like mine.

Leotards

I am a big fan of tucking in my shirts to my shorts. Always have been, always will be. But I hate, hate, hate how my shirts get loose and bunch up and look baggy; it's not a cute look. Leotards have been my saving grace for this problem. I put one on, pull on some shorts and I’m ready to go. No hassle of tucking and no baggy shirts. Forever 21 has some great ones and they’re fabulous. My only problem with leotards is the struggle in the bathroom, but hey, beauty is pain.

Jeans with cuts on the back

Now this is probably the most daring trend to make this list, and I’ve only actually tried this trend with one pair of jeans, but I am obsessed. Basically, this trend is a pair of jeans with slits in the back at the tops of the thighs. I love this trend and I still haven't figured out why. I think it's so different and such a creative take on ripped jeans, and I am all about creative. Pairing this trend with a basic blouse and wedges has my heart. I can’t get over it. This isn’t a trend that I’ve seen in stores, it’s more of a DIY, so I’d recommend going to your local thrift store, picking up some jeans and trying this trend!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
