Remember when we had a president that we could all be proud of? I do. Remember when you got an alert from your preferred news organization, you didn’t have to worry about if the world was going to collapse beneath us? I do. Remember when the White House was not something the likes of Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, and Saturday Night Live could routinely make fun of on a nightly and weekly basis? I do. Here are just a few examples that reduced the presidency to what we see today.
- View of their own daughters:
- “When I was a kid I didn’t realize ... the enormous pressure that young women are placed under in terms of looking a certain way. And being cute in a certain way.”
- “Although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said that if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps, I would be dating her. Is that terrible?”
- Intel Briefings:
- “It doesn’t matter how smart you are, If you’re not getting their perspective, their detailed perspective, then you are flying blind.”
- “You know, I’m, like, a smart person. I don’t have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day for the next eight years.”
- Response to Parkland Shooting:
- “We are grieving with Parkland. But we are not powerless. Caring for our kids is our first job.”
- “You know, I really believe — you don’t know until you test it — but I really believe I’d run in there, even if I didn’t have a weapon.”
- How they celebrated last Father’s day:
- “Of all that I've done in my life, I'm most proud to be Sasha and Malia's dad. To all those lucky enough to be a dad, Happy Father's Day!”
- “The new Rasmussen Poll, one of the most accurate in the 2016 Election, just out with a Trump 50% Approval Rating. That's higher than O's #'s!”
