In recent years, there has been a push for females to stop comparing themselves to others and to begin to love themselves instead. However, this is easier said than done. Here are 5 easy ways to begin your journey to self-love!

1. Look in the mirror and pick out at least one positive thing you love about yourself.

When you start the day off positively, you'll feel better about yourself throughout the day.

2. Wear clothes that make you feel beautiful.

It doesn't matter what's trendy or what all the Instagram models are wearing--wear what you feel comfortable in, because when you're comfortable, you're confident, and when you're confident, you're on your way to loving yourself!

3. Do a social media cleanse.

No Instagram?? *gasp* Yes, I know saying adios to social media is difficult in this technologically-based world, but the amount of freedom you feel once you delete the apps for a while makes you feel incredible. No longer are you comparing yourself to others; you're simply living life beautifully as you.

4. Don't put others down.

It's easy to nit-pick other women's' bodies to make ourselves feel better about our own. But this is defeating the entire purpose of self-love. If they love their body, why shame them for that? And the same goes for you--if you love your body, don't let yourself or anyone else shame you for that.

5. Treat your body right.

You've only got one body for your whole life; fuel it right, work it out right, and you're on your way to a healthy lifestyle. When you feel healthy, you feel happy, and when you're happy, you're less likely to think negatively about yourself.

Ladies, get out there and love yourselves!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
