When I was in high school, there were different cliques within the music department. You were either a band geek, an orchestra dork, or a choir nerd. I was a choir kid through and through. Some of the characteristics of us chorus nerds.

1. Most singing children make you cringe

Squeaking, out of tune voices would hurt anyone's ears. I swear.

2. You find yourself conducting whenever a song you know comes on the radio

Yeah... you go a little crazy in the car. And the supermarket.

3. You skip the dairy when you have an important speaking engagement... or a cold.

Dairy increases the mucus in the throat

4. You do the hand signs when you hear "Do Re Mi" from "The Sound of Music"

Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do.

5. You try to harmonize with your favorite songs

Usually at a third or fifth interval.

I can honestly say I am proud to be a choir kid.
