Millennials the world over have been entranced by Bernie Sanders, the Vermont senator who came into the presidential political scene in an unexpected way. He is not funded by a single Super PAC or by family money or by his own company. Instead, he is funded by union workers and eager individuals all across the country. He promises accessible education and healthcare and wants to unite the country as one people. And it's not just Millennial Democrats that are buying into his campaign. Democrats younger than 45 prefer him to his closest competitor, and Republicans who are dissatisfied with the extremism of their own party are more inclined to favor him. He's driving the country with an exclamatory, "Feel the Bern!" But how do you know if you're truly feeling the Bern? It's easy....
1. You will be the most excited to vote for Bernie Sanders versus any other candidate.
If he receives the Democratic Party nomination, that would be wonderful. Heck, you'd be happy if he received the Republican Party nomination. (Maybe not Independent because he may not actually get elected that way.) Just let me vote for Bernie!
2. You have, or definitely want, items of clothing, posters, or even tattoos of future President Sanders.
One item will not be enough. There should be mugs and keychains and hoodies, too. Even if you're not a tattoo person, you've probably admired a Bernie tattoo. Color me Bernie.
3. You know the dangers of speaking the name of his competitor on social media.
For some reason, the media likes to focus on someone big-name political woman, even though he is much better liked and continues to be more successful in wooing the hearts of voters everywhere. To speak or type her name on social media often causes her name to trend instead of Bernie's. And that's no good when you're trying to garner support and win votes. It's earned her many lovely monikers, including "She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" and "Hildemort" among other, more profane names. We don't want to talk about you. Just Bernie. Sheesh.
4. You've fantasized about seeing Jane Sanders as First Lady.
His soul mate, his sounding board. These are terms Bernie has used to describe his lovely wife, Jane. Not only is she cool by association, she has a Ph.D. in political leadership, she is an activist, and on top of that, she is your average wife, mother, and grandmother. She is a woman with class, a woman to be respected, and an obvious asset to Bernie's campaign.
5. You've donated money to Bernie Sanders campaign.
That's the beauty of it all! Your money can make a difference. With every other candidate, your individual dollars are not even a drop in the bucket. They're more like water vapor. When you donate to Bernie, you are combining your voice, your personal power, with the voices and power of the rest of America who also love Senator Sanders. And if that isn't an exciting part of the presidential election, I don't know what is!
And if you haven't donated yet, but want to, I suggest you visit the website linked below.
