Have you ever met those people who are just a little too happy to be awake before 7 A.M.? Some people can be up to watch the sunrise and still muster up enough energy to go on a 5-mile run. They're happy to make breakfast and clean up the kitchen before the birds start chirping. They are what I like to call morning people.
If you're anything like me, this is something you just can't relate to. Mornings can be rough for some of us. It's the time of day we have to leave the comfort of our beds to face the reality of everyday life. So, in honor of all my fellow bed-lovers, here are five signs mornings just aren't for you.
1. The day doesn’t start until you’ve had coffee.
You live and breathe for that first cup. From the moment your first alarm goes off until you've finally taken a sip, coffee is the only thing consuming your thoughts.
2. The snooze button is your best friend.
What's another eight minutes before you get in the shower really going to hurt? Nothing. So, why not make it 16?
3. You’re a pro at tuning out your alarm tone.
You've mastered the ability to sleep through any and all sounds. This is great for sleeping in on your day off, but it also means you need to set at least three alarms to get your attention.
4. Talking before nine is not an option. Ever.
Nope. Not even if you've already been up for three hours.
5. You question whether or not work/school is even worth it.
"Do I really need an education?" "Is it really that bad if I call out again? We're probably overstaffed anyways." These questions and more are what plague you every day as you struggle to drag yourself out of bed.
Remember, you don't have to watch the sunrise and listen to birds in order to have your life together. Some of us just thrive in the night time.
