Listen up guys, this one's for you.

Growing up he was always there for me. We met in 7th grade. I went to him with any problem I had; with my boyfriends, issues at home, school, anything. We would go out to eat, play laser tag, or just hangout at one of our houses. He was always there when I needed him. He was one friend zoned sucker.

Or so he thought.

Eight years later, he finally kissed me. About time!

Here's the truth guys; women usually end up marrying their best friend. So, if you can make it through puberty and the four years of drama and self-confusion together, you can probably get through the barren wasteland known as the friend zone. I realize that not everyone who has been friend zoned is going to end up with whoever put them there, but here are a few signs you should make a move.

1. She doesn't like any of your girlfriends

It's probably true when she says they're not good enough for you, but HELLO this might be because she's the only one good enough. Nobody knows you like she does, and she's probably estimated the length of each of your relationships down to the day. Pay attention to her level of jealousy. Is she sad she has less time with her best friend, or is she jealous of your girlfriends?

2. She lets you pay

Granted, there are a few gold diggers out there, but if we're "just friends", no self-respecting woman is going to lead a guy on by letting him pay the bill. If she lets you pay, it's a date!

3. She's constantly dating losers

You know you're a way better guy than that dude. She probably knows it too. But what's a girl to do? She's too afraid to cross that line between friends and more than friends, and she knows you'll never make a move, so she moves on.

So who's it going to be? You or him?

4. Her parents and friends love you

Okay, this isn't really a sign by itself, but it does give you major brownie points.

5. She flirts with you

This is probably subtle. (Unless she's really annoyed that you haven't taken a hint yet.) But flirting is a key sign that she's interested. When we put a guy in the friend zone, we make sure he knows where he stands. We wouldn't confuse the boundaries by flirting.

So guys, take these signs seriously. Think about your relationship with this person, has it changed over time? Has she told you before that she has feelings for you? Follow your gut. Sometimes we're too afraid to lose the friendship to even try to cross over that line. But I can tell you from experience, making that move can be so worth it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
