Here we are in the first week of 2016, and you've made a promise to yourself that you would watch less Netflix, but let's face it, that's a silly resolution. However, when you log onto Netflix, you're completely lost! What to watch? Don't worry, Brianna's here. Here is a list of 5 Netflix shows guaranteed to keep you occupied until 2017. You're welcome.
1. "The Office"
What can I say about this show? Chances are, you've seen it, and you're like "why would you include this?". My reply, "Shut up, this is my favorite show." No, but seriously, I've watched the entire series 3 times thus far. The work lives and growing friendships of Dwight Schrute, Jim Halpert, Pam Beesly, and others continue to delight and humor me. This is the show I put on when I don't want to watch something new. (Jim+Pam 4ever)
2. "Parks and Rec"
When "Parks and Rec" was in development, it was intended on becoming a sort of sequel to "The Office," but for those who have actually seen "Parks and Rec" know it to be anything but. The plot follows Leslie Knope and friends as she stays true to herself and tries to make a difference in her small town community political sphere. If Leslie's unwavering optimism won't have you hooked, Ron's one-liners certainly will. If "The Office" is my favorite show, "Parks and Rec" is my second.
3. "Criminal Minds"
If you're like me, you enjoy the crime dramas (yes please), and perhaps the best crime drama on television is "Criminal Minds". This show is definitely not for the faint of heart. The storylines and criminals depicted are as dark as they come. However, the show does offer a lot of eye candy in the form of Agent Derek Morgan and Dr. Spencer Reid, my roommate's and my husbands, respectively.
Ugh, how adorable is he??
4. "Twin Peaks"
I JUST finished this 1990-91 show, and all I think is "what just happened." With only 30 episodes, "Twin Peaks" is definitely one of the shorter series but packs a swift punch. The show revolves around Laura Palmer's murder, a regular whodunnit, and the FBI agent who is called in to solve it. The characters depicted in the small town of Twin Peaks are one of a kind just like the series finale.
BONUS: "Twin Peaks" is in the middle of a revival slated for 2017 (YAY!)
5. "X-Files"
THIS SHOW. Ugh, I love it. The "X-Files" broke barriers that people didn't even know existed. Dana Scully is a strong, independent woman with killer comebacks to boot. One of my favorite things that came out of this show is the portrayal of friendship between Dana Scully and Fox Mulder. They're both broken in their own ways, but when they come together to solve a paranormal mystery the result is truly out of this world. Sorry, bad pun.
BONUS: "X-Files" is ALSO in the middle of a revival premiering at the end of January!! I'M SO EXCITED
I hope these suggestions give you some ideas as you start your binge-watch of 2016! Happy Watching!
